Homemade, wooden, collapsible yarn swift
I got this wonderful free pattern for a homemade wooden, collapsible yarn swift from the brilliant woman behind crafty diversions. Although it's a "crafty girls guide" I had my husband make it for me. It would have just taken me a long, long time and my latest dye job is finally ready to wind and photograph so I was in a bit of a hurry. I'm sure I could have done it since I'm fairly intelligent, and quite crafty, so don't be afraid to try it yourself.
This really beats the lego swift I previously posted about hands down!
It works like a dream and the instructions are perfect.
Some extra photos:
Take some beautiful linen/silk/rayon blend yarn, taken from a sweater:
Plop it in your new wooden yarn swift:
And you have a beautiful, ready to knit ball of yarn!
Thanks again to Crafty Diversions for these awesome instructions. She's got and awesome blog and tons of free patterns!
